Tyson Fury has urged Oleksandr Usyk to ‘get back in the gym’ ahead of their heavyweight rematch. Following his loss to Usyk in their undisputed title clash in May, Fury is preparing for their rematch on December 21, having activated the rematch clause in their original contract.

 

In a new video posted on social media, Fury is seen punching a heavy bag and delivering a fierce message to Usyk. Fury, alongside Saudi boxing chief H.E. Turki Alalshikh, insists he is already making preparations for the late 2024 bout.

Alalshikh began the video by addressing Usyk, “Usyk, you are still wasting your time with The Rock filming for movies. We are in training now.” Fury then added, “We are in training for you now, Usyk. Get well brother, I will see you in December for the big KO. Big drama show. Get in the gym, son. We will be ready.”

Usyk is currently filming the Hollywood movie ‘The Smashing Machine’ alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and has been seen taking some downtime before returning to training camp.

Fury knows he must deliver a career-best performance to overturn the loss, given Usyk’s strong performance in their previous fight. Despite being knocked down and threatened with a stoppage, Fury managed to survive the bout, though he was ultimately defeated on the scorecards.

The upcoming rematch offers Fury a shot at redemption and a potential future fight with Anthony Joshua. Fury has suggested that, despite his defeat, he found the fight with Usyk ‘easy’ and claimed that he made Usyk look like an amateur. Reflecting on the fight, Fury stated, “I’ve watched the fight back lots of times and still got the same answer – I thought I won the fight. Usyk knows he didn’t beat me. I thought I boxed the head right off him for most of the rounds.”

The rematch is highly anticipated, and Fury is determined to reclaim his title and set the stage for future heavyweight showdowns.
