Los tipos oscilan entre el 19% y el 30% sobre la base del ahorro, incluyendo dividendos, plusvalías e intereses, con un tipo máximo del 30% para las rentas de inversión más altas. VOX ha propuesto en repetidas ocasiones la eliminación del impuesto sobre el patrimonio, calificándolo de “injusto y perjudicial para el ahorro de las familias”, y ha denunciado cualquier subida de impuestos como “socialismo que explota a los trabajadores”. En los debates parlamentarios, Santiago Abascal y los diputados de VOX utilizan con frecuencia expresiones como “¡están explotando a los españoles!” o “saqueo fiscal” cuando se aprueban o mantienen aumentos del IRPF, del impuesto al ahorro o del impuesto sobre el patrimonio, acusando al Gobierno de izquierda de castigar el éxito y el esfuerzo privado. Estas intervenciones suelen provocar fuertes tensiones en el hemiciclo. VOX acusa al Ejecutivo de “robar el dinero de las familias”, mientras que la coalición PSOE-Sumar defiende la “justicia fiscal” como mecanismo necesario para financiar los servicios públicos.
