Daniel Cormier DEMANDS Jon Jones Be Stripped of UFC Heavyweight Title After “Bones” Dismisses Aspinall Fight: Time to Move On!

“Daniel Cormier Demands UFC Strip Jon Jones of Heavyweight Title After He Dismisses Aspinall Fight: ‘Time to Move On!’”

Daniel Cormier isn’t holding back—he’s calling for Jon Jones to be stripped of his UFC heavyweight title after Jones downplayed a potential fight with interim champ Tom Aspinall.

During a recent FULL SEND podcast appearance, Jones stated that he “couldn’t care less about fighting” and walked off when asked about Aspinall. For Cormier, this was the final straw, believing it’s time for the UFC to move on from Jones’ reign.

Cormier suggested Jones is avoiding the fight with Aspinall, not because he’s afraid, but because the risk simply outweighs the reward at this stage in his career. On his YouTube channel, Cormier said:

“He doesn’t want to fight this guy. It doesn’t sound like he’s going to fight. It’s time to take the belt. It’s time to move on and wait to see if that hunger he speaks about comes back. And if it does, put him in there with Aspinall. No other options.”

Cormier also said, “I’d make him fight Tom even if Tom wasn’t the champion because that’s the fight that matters. Tom is ready, and he’s going to fight someone else soon. He’s pissed off that he hasn’t been booked. We’ll see what happens.”

Meanwhile, Jon Jones has made it clear why he’s not interested in facing Aspinall next. The UFC heavyweight champion says he’s enjoying his life, focusing on personal projects, and doesn’t feel the fight with Aspinall brings anything new.

In his words: “I’ve already beaten a whole generation of rising stars. It’s the same story being rewritten for a new era.”

Jones, reflecting on his career, explained: “I’m in a place where I’m enjoying all the hard work I’ve put in. He doesn’t excite me. If I beat him, there’s just going to be another guy with a new fanbase claiming to be the next big thing. I’ve lived through that my whole life.”

Looks like Jones is content to let others fight for the spotlight, while Cormier pushes for him to face the future of the division.
