Cardi B Reveals Why She Never Hired a Nanny for Kulture and Wave, and She’ll Do the Same With Her Third Child: One Reason People Admire “She Truly Loves Her Kids”

In a world where many celebrities rely on teams of nannies and assistants to help raise their children, Cardi B is proudly walking a different path. In a recent candid interview, the Grammy-winning rapper and mother of two revealed why she never hired a nanny for her children, Kulture and Wave, and why she plans to do the same for her third child, whose arrival she hinted is “closer than people think.”

“It’s not that I don’t trust people,” Cardi began, “but I trust me more. Nobody’s gonna raise my babies like I do. Period.”

Despite her busy schedule filled with music, fashion, and public appearances, Cardi B said being hands-on with her children is non-negotiable. She admitted the decision hasn’t always been easy—but for her, it’s worth every sleepless night and chaotic morning.

“There were times I was breastfeeding with one hand and answering emails with the other,” she laughed. “But you know what? I don’t regret a second of it.”

Fans and fellow moms have long praised Cardi for her authenticity and fierce love for her children. While many celebrities have entire parenting teams behind the scenes, Cardi has been open about the fact that she and her husband Offset have done the majority of parenting themselves—with help from family, but no hired nannies.

Why No Nanny? Cardi B Gets Real

When asked directly why she avoided hiring a nanny, Cardi B gave a heartfelt answer that resonated with millions:

“I come from a big Dominican and Trinidadian family. We didn’t grow up with strangers watching us—we had our mamas, aunties, grandmas. That’s the love I want my kids to feel.”

She explained that she wants her children to feel safe, rooted, and seen, especially in an industry that can feel overwhelming and artificial. “They’re gonna know who mama is. I’m not just the lady in the pictures or on stage—I’m the one who tucks them in, makes them pancakes, and shows up when they fall.”

While Cardi admits that sometimes the pressure is intense—especially when juggling touring schedules and media appearances—she said that the guilt of missing key moments in her kids’ lives would be worse.
