🚨American sports journalist denies speculation about Novak Djokovic👇

Since winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics a year ago, Novak Djokovic has set as his new goal to win his 25th Grand Slam title to become the oldest ever to do this feat and definitively surpass Margaret Court in the all-time rankings.

The former world No.1 attempted to reach this milestone at the 2024 US Open, where he was eliminated in the first week having not recovered his energies after his triumph at the Olympics a few weeks earlier.

This season, the Serbian legend reached the semifinals at the Australian Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon Championships, but never gave the real feeling that he could go further. His body no longer reacts as it did in the past and the two leaders of the men’s tour – Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz – do not seem willing to give Nole any new chances.

The general impression is that the 38-year-old from Belgrade also needs a bit of luck to make tennis history again, not being able to beat two rivals much younger than him in the same tournament in a best-of-five set match.

Nole will not play in Toronto

Yesterday, it was announced that the 24-time Grand Slam champion will not participate in the Toronto Masters 1000 later this month and is expected to return to action in Cincinnati, which will be his only test before the US Open later this summer.

Interviewed by Gill Gross on his YouTube channel, top analyst Steve Flink said that overtaking Margaret Court is not such an important achievement for Nole: “My point is that I think if Novak would just reflect a little bit and realize the record he was always chasing was to beat Nadal and Federer and be the male leader and then suddenly it became a different discussion about how he has surpassed them but could he surpass Margaret Court?

The 100th title was worth it, it’s a milestone, I thought it was worth the effort and I thought it was a big relief to win Geneva and get that out the way, but I honestly don’t think he needs that 25th. I don’t think that will change anything in terms of the historian’s perception over where he belongs in the all time ladder.”
